Three remarkable photographs from occupied Singapore and Borneo: a street-vendor scene bearing a Syonan Kempeitai censorship mark, a monument naming division commander Renya Mutaguchi, and the memorial to Marquis Toshinari Maeda, killed in an air crash off Bintulu in September 1942.

Essex Finds began with a love of the stories hidden in ordinary old things. One box of postcards became several; a small side project became a proper independent business.

The aim is still simple: find interesting pieces, research them properly, price them fairly and help them reach the next person who will enjoy them.
